The club was represented at the annual gathering at Wauchope Cairn, the site of the house where Mrs Elizabeth Scott and her husband Walter lived in the 1780’s.

Some of the party of members and friends who made the annual trip to the Wauchope Cairn, Hawick, on Sunday 13th July. The cairn marks the site of the home of Mrs Elizabeth Scott, (The Guidwife o’ Wauchope Hoose), an admirer and correspondent of Robert Burns. A floral tribute was laid by the president of Hawick Burns Club and an oration delivered by Dave Scott. Following the ceremony, the company returned to the premises of Hawick Burns Club for a social hour
