Super talk from Peter Westwood at the Winter Club Night on 28th March, on Robert Burns family and descendants. His son, also Robert was a chancer and narrowly avoided the slammer due to gambling debts and was saved by the generosity of his mother and uncle Gilbert who put up £200.00, a fantastic sum in those days.
Peter’s knowledge and enthusiasm made for an interesting and entertaining night and I was pleased to see the high turnout.
